15 year old Nepalese National Sashwat Rana has received a 3-year professional contract with the Champions League team FC Copenhagen (2022-2025, U 17 to U 19). FC Copenhagen is an 11 times title holder of the Danish Superliga. Born and raised in Copenhagen Denmark, Sashwat started playing football at the age of 6 from Hellercup Idraets Klub.

At the age of 12 he moved from Hellerup Idraets Klub to Lyngby Bold Klub. He moved to FC Copenhagen at the age of 14 and has played youth games against clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea, RB Leipzig, PSV, West Ham, Bayern Munich. According to the Development Director of FC Copenhagen, Sune Smith-Nielsen, they aim to prepare Sashwat for the senior team before he turns 19. Left Wing Back Sashwat was in Nepal a few months ago for the SAAF under 20 close camp training. If the opportunity comes, Sashwat wants to play for Nepal one day-he said.

Sashwat’s father Bibek Rana himself was a veteran National Karate player and his mother Sushila Hamal has been running Everest Remittance in Denmark for the last 18 years. Sashwat is also the Winner of the Youth Panna World Championship 2020.
